In the third section of our course, we will look at our home of energy, power and our digestive system: our SOLAR center.

The final and third class for this section will be a group class hosted live on Thursday, January 16th at 9pm CST on our private facebook page. some recipes to feed your Solar energy center

Quinoa is our only grain that has magically slipped through the digestive protein gates and has managed to form all of the essestial amino acids (meaning it is a complete protein). This take on cream of wheat and overnight oats provides a solid base for your digesttion system all morning.

Bring oat or coconut milk to a boil. Stir in quinoa and let sit in a covered pot off the element for 15 minutes. Stir in the mashed banana and cinnamon and portion into glass jars. Once it is cooled, place in fridge. Enjoy warm or cold the next day. Recipe makes 2-3 large servings.

 

  • 4 cups coconut or oat milk, unsweetened
  • 2 cups quinoa
  • 2 mashed bananas
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • You can sweeten with Stevia or agave nectar upon serving if desired

Our solar energy center is a place that can get a bit client (spicy) if we don’t continue to monitor our own digestive fires. This cooling smoothie satiated our morning nutrient needs while ensure to not let those flames loose.

Blend all ingredients and enjoy immediately. Even though we are adding frozen fruit to this smoothie, please remove them from teh freezer a good hour before making in order to allow then to come up to room temp.

  • 1 frozen banana, ripe
  • 1.5 cups oat or coconut milk, unsweetened
  • 1/2 frozen cherries or strawberries
  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 Tbsp almond meal/flour, (provides a great protein boost to any smoothie)

Rice puddingis traditionally thought of as a grounding, energy-filled dessert. In this version of it, we amp up the sweetness that is common in solar energy center food, with the use of apples and raisins, which the use of coconut or oat milk provides the creaminess of this digestively pleasing favourite.

Slowly cook the rice, apples and raisins in the oat or coconut milk over low heat for 30 minutes. Add the cinnamon then portion into glass jars. Once cooled, place in the fridge. Enjoy it the next day preferable warmed up.

 

  • 2 cups of basmati rice
  • 4 cups oat or coconut milk, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 apple, grated
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Indian dal can be very soothing from a grain and lentil perspective, but its spice level can impact delicate digestive systems, so in this take on dal, we adopt the soothing qualities of some Mexican ingredients.

Boil yellow lentils and basmati rice together in water or vegetable water. Once fully cooked and spiced, place on a bed of grated green cabbage and finish with slices avocado. Makes 3-4 servings

  • 1 cup yellow lentils
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 4 cups water or vegetable broth (add more as needed to cook the lentils and rice)
  • 1/2 tsp tumeric, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 cups green cabbage, finely grated
  • 2 avocados, slice

In our Solar Center, we want to focus on consuming soothing and filling energy-rich meals that our systems can convert into energy quickly. Quinoa is an easy to digest grain and by lightly sauteing the spinach before we add it to the bowl, we take that extra step out of our digestion process.

Prepare quinoa as per instructions, adding the chickpeas into its cooking process. Wilt the spinach ina fry pan for just a minute before plating. Finish with minced cucumber and avocado slices. Serves 2-3 people.

  • 1 cup coconut yogurt, plain, unsweetened
  • 2 cups quinoa
  • 4 cups water or vegetable broth (for cooking the quinoa)
  • 2 Tbsp avocado oil or olive oil for cooking the quinoa
  • 2 handfuls of spinach, wilt in fry pan
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 cup cucumber, grated or minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

The nutrient dense nuttiness of our steamed brown rice, the calming our the avocado, the earth qualities of the oven-roasted broccoli and the crunch of our slivered almonds make this hardy bowl tremendously soothing for all belly types, yet totally satisfying for your tastebuds.

Cook rice as per instructions. Roast broccoli for 10 minutes in a 375 oven tossed with the salt and olive oil, then finish with sliced almonds and avocado. Serves 3-4 people.

  • 2 cups brown rice
  • 4 cups water or vegetable broth (to boil the rice in)
  • 1 head of broccoli broken into small florets
  • avocado or oil oil for drizzling on the broccoli
  • sea salt
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup almonds, slices or smashed with a kitchen hammer

Let’s head to the market! The following are all the ingredients you need if you decide to make ALL of the recipes you see here. I would first go through those recipes and decide which ones you want to try, before heading out and buying all of this.

 

  • 1/2 head cabbage
  • 6 avocados
  • 1 head of broccoli
  • 2 liters veggie broth
  • 4 cups quinoa
  • 4 cups basmati rice
  • 2 cups brown rice
  • 1 cup yellow lentils
  • 1 pkg spinach
  • 1/4 cup almonds, sliced 
  • 2 apples
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 3 bananas
  • 1/2 cup frozen cherries or strawberries
  • 2 liters (8 cups) coconut or oat milk, unsweetened
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 cup avocado oil
  • cinnamon, tumeric
  • 1/4 cup almond meal/flour
  •  

Options:

  • agave nectar  or Stevia if you want to add to the rice pudding
